C.A.N. was started from a personal passion of the founder to assist nonprofit organizations in the pursuit of their nonprofit goals and success. Linda loves nonprofit organizations and what they offer the community and world at large and hopes to improve the success of your nonprofit organization through their services.
Linda Hughey

Linda has thirty years in nonprofit experience beginning with her participation in her youth with a nonprofit community theater in Lakewood, Colorado. She was a member of the Colorado Association of Family Child Care and served as zoning chairperson obtaining licensing changes for the benefit of child care providers in Colorado communities. Linda was employed with the Wildwood Child Care Food Program where she obtained a large grant from the State of Colorado to hold mandatory licensing training for child care providers. Linda served on the Colorado Children’s Coalition fighting for pro-child legislation in the State of Colorado.
In Florida, Linda served on the founding board of directors for the Gandy Friendship Bridge nonprofit organization which saved the Gandy Bridge from destruction and made it a green-friendly walking and biking bridge between Tampa Bay and St Petersburg Florida. Linda continued her nonprofit work upon her return to Colorado, particularly with community theater organizations. Linda has volunteered her singing and organizational expertise for many nonprofit chorale organizations. She served as President on the board of Loveland Opera Theatre. Linda serves on the Community Marketing Commission for the City of Loveland. She is co-founder and President of the Northern Colorado Nonprofit Resource Center.
In her 20 years in the corporate workforce, Linda has held positions in the child care, telecommunications and banking industries. She has been a national account manager and corporate trainer. She is a registered notary public and obtained Series 6 and Series 7 investment industry licenses. Her background in organizational and financial management have provided credited experience in preparing the 1023 501c3 Applications and grant writing.
She enjoys singing, teaching, playing cards, and riding motorcycles with her husband in the mountains of Colorado. Linda has 2 adult children and a one year old grandchild.
